Our Isel Park Research Facility is where our dedicated staff care for our regional taonga (treasures), including one of New Zealand's most significant photographic collections.

The Isel Park facility is home to an extensive range of historical archives as well as collections of taonga, photographs, social history, textiles, art and natural history specimens. Our trained staff are available to assist visitors with their research to help you uncover the stories and history from the beautiful Tasman region.
Free Admission - donations are appreciated. Research and reproduction fees may apply.
Accessing Collections
We welcome research enquiries by phone or email. Our curatorial staff typically respond within 5-7 working days depending on the volume of enquiries, but please let us know if your request is urgent.
Physical access to collections is by appointment only. Appointments are required to prepare a suitable space and to ensure that collection materials are ready for viewing.
Bookings at least one week in advance are preferred but please let us know if your access needs are urgent.
Research access to taonga may require permission by the Te Tai Ao Komiti, please contact us to enquire with the Kaitiaki Taonga Māori for all taonga access requests.

Free admission for visitors to access collections or conduct their own research within the Isel Park Research Facility
First 30 mins of staff-assisted research complementary
$60 per hour for research services performed by staff. We accept invoice or credit card.
