Tautokotia | Support

As a Not-for-Profit organisation, the generosity of our supporters helps our Museum continue to enrich lives and inspire discoveries for future generations.

As New Zealand’s oldest museum, Nelson Provincial Museum | Pupuri Taonga o Te Tai Ao has a proud history of providing interesting and innovative exhibitions and public programmes. Donations are warmly welcomed, and are essential to the ongoing development of our exhibitions and programmes, restoration and conservation of our collections, and building maintenance.

While much of our core funding is provided by Nelson City and Tasman District councils, we are dependent upon the generosity of our supporters and partners to ensure that we are able to share our collections with current and future generations.

You could make a real difference by supporting our work.

OUR MUSEUM SHOP

As a registered charity, every purchase you make at our gift shop helps our Museum look after our precious collections and bring new exhibitions to the Nelson Tasman rohe (region).

Our Museum Shop features a curated collection of locally-made products, arty objects, exhibition inspired merchandise, books and stationery, retro-cool gift-ware, plus items that are thought-provoking or just plain gorgeous.

Object Donations

We welcome proposals to donate objects that fit our current Collection Policy and would enhance our existing collections. For a variety of reasons, however, we do not end up accepting every proposed donation.

If you have an object that you would like us to consider for donation, please send us an email by clicking on the ‘contact us’ button below.
