Join us for a special floor talk at Nelson Provincial Museum
As part of Nelson Jewellery Week, join artist Keri-Mei Zagrobelna and museum curator Hamuera Manihera for a collaborative floor talk exploring the newly opened exhibition Pāhekoheko, currently on display in the museum’s window space.
Together, they will reflect on the kaupapa of the exhibition, which centres on taonga whakarākai and whakapapa, and the important narratives woven through Keri-Mei’s artistic practice.
Hamuera will also share insights into the museum’s role in supporting the creation of Pāhekoheko, speaking to the responsibilities and opportunities museums hold in helping communities connect with and access taonga tuku iho within institutional collections.
This kōrero promises to offer both personal and professional perspectives on partnership, process, and the power of cultural connection through art.
